Unibox App Reviews

This project died…but the idea was promising

Well, after using this app for 1 year, I moved back to native Mail. Developers promised a year ago to make new functions - not done, promissed iOS app - not done. Guys, bug fixing once in three month will not bring this product any fether and will make it useless one day:)

Doing great again!

Unibox was and still is the best. I had many crash issues and now I’m testing the Beta, which hasn’t this problem. Thanks to the support staff it’s working again! While I was having the crash problem, I tried again Mail, Opera, Mail Pilot and many others. No way. Unibox is simply the best among all of them. Easy to use and set up, great graphic, innovative. The organization by thread is just amazing! If you’re looking for an email sent by Mr. X, just look for Mr. X and what you’re searching is there! Unibox is THE email client!

Really Cool App!

A completely different approach to email from mac mail or gmail. The person centric idea gets a bit of effort to get used to it but at the end it’s worth it. Unibox is fast and lean, intuitive and efficient. Using groups beats labels anytime. Mnagement of attachment is unique and really cool.

Solves my mail organization problems

I receive a lot of emails every day, also on different accounts. Most of the emails are related to projects I work on: there are many people that don’t know how to use any task management tool and can only participate to projects using emails only. The way Unibox allows me to keep my emails organized and avoiding losing their contents and attachments is wonderful and works perfectly: it organizes your emails by “sender” by showing them in a history and collects their attachments. Two simple things that appear trivial but are infact a distinctive feature of this tool and that convinced me to replace the good Mail.app with this excellent product. None of the main features of a professional mail app are lacking, just a few minor things people should be aware of and that don’t change my 5-star rating: - POP is not supported: so if you still have POP-based accounts you will need to manage them separately using Mail.app - Mail rich-text editing should be improved by providing a toolbar (as Mail.app) instead of accessing rich-text options by menu only Recommend buy. At the current price, 15 Eur, it is a real bargain for a professional tool that you use many hours per day.

Great tool, great support

I’m using Unibox since February and the tools works better than promised. I kove the approach, easy for finding what you’re looking for, and very much in line with the new needs of communication. Unibox is fast and easy and when I had a small issue I got form Thomas the right answer in no time. If you’re looking for qa simple, easy and reliable mail interface, Unibox it’s worth your time

Very good but a little raw

Unique idea, light interface, smooth working. I’d like to have the possibility to choose the skin, though (a darker one, for example), and more advanced searches and/or smart folders. I miss the outbox, too (the mailbox where you can find the messages that are being sent). I think that in a couple of major further versions Unibox will be the reference Mac mail app.

Ingenious and brilliant, also very fast

The best mail client ever, new concept, very useful and fast also if you have hundreds of thousands of messages on gmail as I have. Need just some moments to learn a slightly new way to treat e-mails but I find it really the easiest and powerful software for mac

Waiting for ios version!

Waiting for ios version!just that! mac app is mervillous!!!

Oh Thank you Thank You!!!!

I was being swalled alive by my email, couldn’t sort work from advertisements or anything. When I tried to make it easier, I only made things worse. I just couldn;t get the hang of making it all work. I’m not very skilled, but Unibox has literally saved my life. This is the best email program I have ever seen. No more spending hours looking and looking for things that I wouldn’t be able to find. FANTASTIC!!!!!

Email re-imagined… successfully!

Fantastic implementation of a new concept of email managment. I love the way it groups by names and not subjects. I suffered from e-mail overload from 3 different accounts for so long. Unibox has helped me to get back on top of it. Seamless management of my 3 separate accounts, allowing full customization of all options without feeling overwhelmed. Simple access to all email attachments. Apple should be studying this app very carefully. This app was well worth the $16 I paid for it. Looking forward to future updates. Keep up the great work!

Wanted to like it

I tried it because it seems like it is based on a great idea, organizing your e-mail aroud who sent it to allow for an organized conversation thread. However it just doesn’t seem to be very good at displaying your mail which defeats the whole purpose. For example you can not open messages in a separate window, they are confined to the main reading window which is to small. The font selection is horrible, limiting you to normal or large. The “large” font is only slightly larger then the normal. The developers are very slow at adding features, not even sure it is still under development. I can’t tell from thier blog which has not been updated in ages. Even simple tasks like deleting mail from more them one account at a time is difficult. With more effort it might turn out to be a good e-mail reader, but not right now.

Great app!

Overall, I’ve learned to really love this app. It’s fast and responsive even when handling multiple email accounts. Especially compared to the excessive slowdowns I’ve experienced in the Mail app under Yosemite. It’s easy to find all communications from the same person/business and delete an entire thread at once. However it could use a few improvements: When right clicking a thread it gives options to Remove star from messages, move all messages to spam or trash or archive, but you can’t selectively delete only certain messages without doing it one at a time. It would be great if you could star the ones you want to keep and “Delete all but starred messages”. Or at the very least allow you to shift-click to select multiple emails within a thread. Right now it only allows you to select multiple threads.

Please update to support El Capitan!

All the features of the software worked perfectly and smoothly in Yosemite but, after I updated the El Capitan DP, the software malfunctioned and the mails cannot be correctly displayed. Please fix the problems!

So Much More Productive with this Application

Email is a pain and I really don’t care for it. That being said, like most of us, I rely on it daily. There are so many great apps for handeling email on the mobile platform that are desinged help a person get through the mess known as the Inbox. With Unibox I now have an app late gives me the same power to get through my inbox and get to work…… As a side note, I’ve needed to contact support for a minor beta issue and received outstanding support. Truly a great company with a great product…….

Great Program

Great email program. Developer is super quick to respond to questions or concerns. Very pleasing to look at visually. My only wish is that the text size could be increased even further than the “large font” option in the preferences. They said they’d consider adding an “extra large font” option in the future. Text is large enough to read now, even on a 24” monitor at about 2.5 feet, but I’d like it a little larger.

What Apple Mail should have been

I’ve only been using this for two days, so my opinion of this may change over time, and if it does I will update tihs review. In a nutshell, this app is feature rich, the interface is easy to navigate, and it is pleasant to look at as well. The “sort by contact” paradigm this app subscribes to took a bit getting used to. The one big missing feature is it’s inability to support contact groups (which I understand is on the way). Tech support is fast with responses. For an app in such an early stage of development it’s actually pretty amazing. If you are concerned about the $20 price tag, don’t be. Totally worth it.

Misidentifies sender

Received confirming Email from my bank. Sender list shows from Home Depot! Apple Email app shows correct sender. Have had this issue with other senders. Issue not resolved by developer.

Slow - when its not frozen

I love the IDEA of Unibox and so wished it worked - but today I’m dumping it. It constantly freezes, pauses, and is just plain slow. I cant get work done. I’ll keep an eye out for an update, but its unusable for me now and a total waste of $20. BTW - this is my first review ever, I’ve never been so frustrated as to leave a bad review before...

Been Using for Year - Great, Needs A Few Tweaks

4.5 stars. As of this review, I have been using this app for about a year. That entitles me to say a few things about it, and I must say that I believe it is the best email client available for Mac OS. It beats Mail and Airmail, and Im not going to even bother with the usual suspects. It’s that much better. The only thing I want to change about this client is the way that it handles drafts, which is fairly abstruse. Once you create a second draft, the list of drafts is arranged in a tab/pulldown that is awkward to deal with. I also would love to see a more robust search function. As it is, the search is good only when you know and can search for the email address itself; search capability is rather week if you can only recall a snippet of the content as a search term, for example. FInally, some contextual/calendar support would be a welcome addition. Other than those three quibbles, it’s fabulous. It has helped me get my spam under control (no small feat) and get back to a zero emails system (whereby any email not read is an email I should read). I should also mention the attachments view. If you have an attachment somewhere in your email inbox and all you know is person who sent it, that’s all you need. You simple bring up that person and click on attachments view and... whoop there it is: all of that person’s attachments ever—by list or by icon. That is so nice it can’t be overstated. If you need an email client that someone put some thought into—here it is.

Easy to use and find things fast

I love how easy this email client is to use. Set-up was a breeze, email sorting is amazing, and finding emails using search is super easy. Once they support exchange email I’ll change my review to 5 stars.
